Maciej Kurcz, cultural anthropologist  assoc. prof. at the University of Silesia in Katowice., a former director of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, currently a deputy director in the Institute of Culture Studies. His research interests lie in culture dynamics in modern Africa both in the context of rural societies and urban centres. He has been engaged in researching Sudan since 2000. He is an author of more than forty publications on Africa nad Sudanu, including books: Za trzecią kataraktą (Beyond the Third Cataract, PTL 2007) based on ethnographic research in Northern Sudan in 2003 and 2004, and “Urban Now: a human in the face of borderlineness and urbanisation in Juba, South Sudan”- Berlin : Peter Lang GmbH, 2021. - 272 pp. - (International Relations in Asia, Africa and the Americas ; vol. 11) - ISBN 978-3-631-81988-3) based on ethnographic research in South Sudan in 2007 and 2008. Currently he is engaged in two archeological projects in Sudan: Soba – the Heart of Kingdom of Alwa and “Good Sheperd” from Masida. Between Kingdoms throughout epochs, ORCID: 0000-0002-9505-7311

Magdalena Szalbot, cultural anthropologist, Assistant Professor, PhD at the Institute of Culture Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice. She has written 40 papers in Polish and English. The project coordinator: Cultural Ecology - Specialization at the Field of Ethnology, supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants and co-financed by the Polish funds, member of The Polish Ethnological Society (PTL), branch in Cieszyn and Games Research Association of Poland (PTBG). Research activity concerns problems of ludus (anthropology of play, polish and european folk games, TSG), urban anthropology, ethnicity, migration, ecology, borderlands, and multiculturalism. mgr Anna Pilśniak, University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland

Anna Pilśniak is a Polish editor with more than ten years of experience, currently employed at the University of Silesia Publishing House. She has worked at the Museum of Art and History of Judaism in Paris. She’s a graduate from the Jagiellonian University with a MA in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology and a postgraduate from the University of Silesia in Katowice in Teaching Polish as a Foreign Language.

Ewa Kozik, MA - ethnologist, religious studies scholar, educator, PhD student at the Doctoral School at the University of Silesia focused on the issues of contemporary medical myths. Supervisor of the Scientific Group of Ethnologists, author of scientific articles. Member of the Stanislaw Andres Scientific Society, member of the Polish Folklore Society, Cieszyn Branch.
