Before 1970s the approach stating that lingual functions are merelyconnected with the left hemisphere becomes obsolete in the 21st century . Nowadays, modern psychological, linguistic and medical research has clearly showed the relationship between lingual deficitsand the damage of the right hemisphere structures. Lingual deficits usually concern disorders suchas expression/emotion aprosody, comprehension of complex sentences, problems with semantics andlexis, and so on. Thses patients with the damaged right hemisphere visit speech and language neurotherapistsmore frequently since such therapists can minimize communication disorders caused by theright hemisphere damage if the right treatment is applied.
