The aim a new scientific journal titled „Paidia and Literature” is to present a broad view of polish and foreign children’s and youth literature seen from a perspective of contemporary trends in humanities, that can be incorporated into a theoretical and critical toolset used for non-adult literature research. The articles published in the annual journal focus on issues not only related to present-day children’s and youth literature/(pop)culture, but also on the classic texts of the genre perceived through diversity of ideas vibrant in modern approach to humanities. It is expected that the articles’ scope of topics will incorporate issues from non-adult literature field into modern humanistic research, and – regarding to its canon – will revitalize its educational value, while presenting problems present in the modern era (which scale and intensity can not be ignored by the education system) through the non-canonic works.

CALL FOR PAPERS - „Paidia and Literature” 2024, 6th release

2024-01-10

LITTLE ANTHROPOCENE

We invite you to submit articles for the 6th issue of "Paidia i Literatura" devoted to reflection on the Anthropocene, defined as the era in which man became a geological factor leaving its mark on our planet. Researchers understand the Anthropocene not only as a moment of destabilization of life on Earth, but also a period in which the existing categories that have organized the world so far turn out to be outdated and urgently require clarification.

So how do we sustain the story of childhood in the context of this planetary destabilization? What narratives should we use? How to create new stories? How to tell existing stories in such a way as to arrange the world according to other possibilities.

The issue also includes "From the World" and "Varia" sections.

We invite you to submit proposals for article topics by February 15, 2024. We are waiting for your texts until March 31, 2024.

Please send topics and articles using https://journals.us.edu.pl/index.php/pl

If you have any questions or technical problems, please contact us: pil.czasopismo@us.edu.pl

Submitted articles are assessed by the journal's editorial team. Admission to publication is based on the assessment of two independent reviewers (double blind peer review).

We wish to see your interpretations in the form of texts of culture addressed to young audiences, such as literature, movies, theatre, illustrations, posters, video games, popular science publications, pedagogy practices, and widely understood languages as a whole.
